A method for manufacturing banknotes. It is difficult to distinguish with the naked eye a banknote steel and a banknote litho. (lithographic), but you can check the serial number of the banknote to know his process.

This is a banknote that was issued to replace a damaged banknote or a banknote destroyed before being put into circulation. This type of banknote generally have a larger value. For some banknotes, between 1954 and 1975, an * ??was added to the prefix to indicate that it's a replacement banknote.
