At Torex Auction, October 26, 2012, this banknote was uncertified and sold for $10.030 CAD. It was called about EF by The Canadian Numismatic Company.

This banknote sold for $21,240 CAD at Public Torex Auction on October, 2018. From the auctioneer:

Error Note; 1972 $5 BC-48bA-E25a-ii High Range #*SB4735499, BCS AU55. A superb example of a triple variety
High range replacement and Error note. All the known high range notes are rare but we have never seen one with an error. The very process of printing a third error makes this virtually impossible, since the high ranges replacement notes which end in 000,499, 500, 999 are replacing defective /error notes and are specially hand cut . The CPMS population reports for the high range notes only 3 examples, however, there are no errors listed for these high range notes. Also there are no errors among the other high range notes for all denominations and prefixes in the multi coloured series . TCNC has never seen one either in the 1954 /67series. We are very confident in saying that this note is possibly the only known example. Expect strong bidding on this ONE-OF-A-KIND Error note.
