Re: 1928 10¢
A die crack would appear as an exclusion not an intrusion... at the 1 o'clock point of the top crown on the reverse it does look like there's a die crack. The long large crack down the reverse would need a bit deeper investigation... it could be a scratch or it could be a strike through wire or plan...

Re: Removing coins from ICCS plastic sleeve?
I've taken coins that were graded out of their plastic coffins and into a nice clean 2x2. It's really the way I prefer to look at my coins. Now you said you had no idea why someone paid to have these graded. Sometimes ICCS and other graders will provide discounts on bulk submissions. For example reg...

Re: Selling my complete collection over 5000 items
Thanks bill! To be honest I have a hard time letting go of almost all of my 50 cents pieces because of what Paul showed me. So I've kept a lot of those pieces. I have received a whole lot of support and good wishes from the numismatic community and the wrestling community. Both have been very influe...

Re: Selling my complete collection over 5000 items
Henry: Nope not at all.. in fact I'm still keeping a few items, and it's one of the reasons I'm having a tough time finishing my 50 cent list... there are some varieties even in Fine condition I just don't want to let go of b/c I think they''re pretty cool. Truth is that back in November I had a bra...

Selling my complete collection over 5000 items
There's way too many items to list here... Most is Canadian material. There is also a large section dedicated to Newfoundland. I have a small amount of U.S. and world issues as well. If you're interested please just send me a PM with your e-mail address and I will send you an excel spread sheet of w...

Re: Liquidating Collection Questions
The first grade of UNC notes is a 60 out of 70.... and for each point upwards the criteria gets stricter and stricter .. Don't be so fast to take all the notes to the bank. If there is a large number of notes they still may do well if sent to an auction house.. there may also be something unique in ...

What is it that you see that makes you think this happened at the mint?
To me it looks like a huge hunk of silver solder and this coin used to be jewelry piece of sort.

Edmonton: April 13-15 is the U17 & U19 national championships for wrestling. I have been a wrestling coach for over 20 years. There's a few kids I have coached that will be attending this event and while I haven't been able to coach this year (medical - I have had a brain bleed this year which h...

Re: NGC Graded One Dollar Canadian coins
Hot Brass: I think you might have to accept that you may take a loss on these two items. I have seen '35 dollars in MS65 sell for between 150 and 210... I think a lot had to do with the eye appeal and toning. The '37 is not on my watch list but it trends for 100 at that grade, which really means at ...

Re: 1 cent split
There are coin forums and organizations dedicated to error coins. The value of any coin is completely dependant on the one who wants to buy it. This coin has a cool factor but it's not rare or uncommon. The big money in error coins is in the ones that hardly get "out" of the mint. $50 - $1...
