Re: 1982 & 1983 United Kingdom uncirculated set

The Brit coins look like abl=out $4.50 to 6.00 for each set that actually sold. You should keep them or give them to a young kid to peak their interest in coinage.

Re: 1982 & 1983 United Kingdom uncirculated set

Can't help you, as this is a Canadian forum, but I'd say that the sets are very common and inexpensive. The best way to find out is to go to Ebay and key in UK or British set .... using the title on the top of your holders (or the important part/words, including the date). Once your search comes up,...

Re: 1907-1945 dimes

This is a Canadian coin forum but we can help. There is no way to be able to grade/evaluate your coins with the given photography. It appears that almost all are very common coins from the mintages, so your buffs may be worth 15-25 cents or so each. The dimes would be scrap silver or about 70-80 cen...

Jackattack ... If you don't already know, 'nickelsguy" is the foremost expert on Canadian & US fakes and counterfeits. He was personally asked by reps from the US Congress to help them with proposed legislation to counteract forgeries of US coinage. So, if you don't believe the other 6 long...

Fake 1921 5 cent

There's a guy trying to sell a fake 1921 5 cent in your buy/sell section... don't bite on it. It is so abviously a counterfeit that it's laughable.

Re: For Sale KEY DATE 1921 Canada Five Cents

If the RCMP or the local police are reading this thread, I would expect a knock on your door soon. It is against the law to evn possess one of these fakes, let alone trying to sell it and claiming that it isn't a fake. You found it, it was free. Go ahaead and spend $50 to have it authenticated and y...

Re: For Sale KEY DATE 1921 Canada Five Cents

Then the guy who had the old furniture had the fake. Just look at the 2 and the final 1. Look at the coin/price guide on this site and look at the digits on a REAL 1921 from the museum. The 1921's have been heavily faked for the last 30-40 years.

Re: For Sale KEY DATE 1921 Canada Five Cents

This coin is a counterfeit coin. The digits are all wrong. Compare it to a real one in the price guide. This coin is illegal to even own, let alone try to sell.

Re: 10 cents 1881 Obv 1 Error

When you get to "completed listings" from the link, only the auctions that show up in green actually sold. You can see that, unless the auction is hyped, that there is very little premium for this coin over a regular one. The rest of the items listed as "completed" just had the a...

Re: 10 cents 1881 Obv 1 Error

You can buy a Charlton Annual coin guide. Every year they will have a different denomination for varieties in the back(60-80 or so). I don't know what year had the 10 cent in the back. The best way to find the true value of anything is to look at the Ebay "sold" prices. Those go back at le...

Re: 10 cents 1881 Obv 1 Error

I no longer have my Zoell books to see if this has been recognized before. It looks to me like the "i" has been repunched on the die and the guy with the punch and the hammer both didn't get it flush with the die, nor exactly on top of it. This would be a variety, not an error ... there sh...

Re: 10 cents 1881 Obv 1 Error

There is too much glare and reflection, let alone the size of the photo, to tell what, if anything, is going on with the "i's". No one can answer your question without better photography, so don't come down hard on the folks trying to help you.

Most RCM stuff can be bought at 30-40 cents on the dollar of the issue price a few years down the road. Any time that you have more available than buyers, prices drop.

Re: 1965 Canadian Dollar

You will probably not find any MS 65-66 coins in those rolls. You'll probably get mostly 62-63's and a few 4's. You can't go by what any books or guides that supposedly tell you what they are worth .. you'll get 40-60% of what a book says. The way to find out is go on Ebay and look at the "sold...
