1906 25 cents SC
Hey everyone! Forgive me for geeking out but I just recieved the below coin in the mail and could not be more ecstatic! I found this on Ebay and went out on a limb off a so-so photo and am so happy I did! Would like to know anyone's opinion on the grade as I am always a poor read. Thanks in advance!...
Re: 1964 Dime
Hold on everyone, something's fishy. The pictured bust of the Queen doesn't nearly match the apparent date on the coin, which may take this out of dryer territory. Correct me if I am wrong Baldr, but the two images side by side at the bottom are just two images of either side of the coin placed toge...

Re: 1968 variety?
To me it looks like it's the lighting and toning that's playing with the eye... Well Shylo you are correct! The coins arrived, and they all bear a standard 8. It was just a matter of light and angle and such. I fully agree that it its a peculiar concept, but I know at least the one instance exists....

Re: 1968 variety?
That is quite a fairy tail that seller has. Just how would a 69 be converted to a 68? Also there would be no reason to even if it was possible, as there were over 170,000,000 minted between the RCM and Philadelphia Mint so an extra couple of thousand would make no difference. Hard to tell from the ...

1968 variety?
Hello All! I was wondering if I could pick everyone's brain about this coin. I will post a better picture when I receive the item - I waited until I had won the listing on ebay and have posted a screen grab from saidting - but the coin in question is front and center. The curiosity is the 8 in the d...

Re: $5 1972 RS
Hi shunter, Quite the estate you must have been put in charge of! Below is a pic I snapped from the Charlton catalogue of Canadian Government Paper Money. While I'm not in any position to try and give you its grade, I can say that your best bet is to get this professionally graded by a third party g...

Re: 1967 Coin Oriented Dollar
Could be, but you don't know if he took out the coin and reversed it. Very true. On the plus side - and what made me think the seller didn't know what they had should it really be a 180 - is it didn't cost me more than any other '67 set, and it wasn't advertised as being anything special. I'll keep...

Re: 1967 Coin Oriented Dollar
Do you mean the item is in coinage alignment, rather than medal? It's all due to the reverse die rotating .. just like the diving goose is 45 degrees off. Any rotation less than 15-20 degrees mean nothing and no premium. A full 180 degrees out (coinage) is quite rare and about a dozen found so far ...

1967 Coin Oriented Dollar
Hey everyone, I was wondering if anyone had any information on the 1967 coin oriented silver dollars. Scarcity, known in existence, etc. A few quick google searches hasn't turned up much, and in all fairness (and shame) I do need to go pick up a Charlton catalogue. I only ask because I am 99% sure I...

2016 50 cent dot - 3 varieties
So today I unwrapped one of two rolls of 2016 fifty cent pieces I ordered from the mint, and in the course of going through them came across three different dot varieties. I only found one of each, so if anyone else looks through theirs and finds one I would love to hear to know that it wasn't just ...

Re: Any ideas on stain/residue on 2016 50c from mint?
Hi Just wanted to comment that I had a stain on one coin at the end out of 2 rolls as well. Not as bad as yours, one spot on the coin about a 1/4" round. Looks like blue dye from the wrapper perhaps. Tee Well curiosity got the best of me! I opened the roll, and it was only the ones on the end,...

Any ideas on stain/residue on 2016 50c from mint?
Hey everyone, So I ordered two of the 2016 special wrap 50 cent rolls and they came in today. One looks normal, but the second one seems to have some kind of black/dark blue stain on both coins on either end of the roll. I tried to wipe it away with just a lens cleaning cloth, but it didn't remove a...
