cleaned coins
How is the value of a coin affected by cleaning? IE, how much, by percentage, has the value of a cleaned coin been lessened?

Holed coins
I was wondering how the value of a coin is affected if it has been holed?

Grading help for 1883H Canadian 5 cents
I am requesting help grading this 1883H Canadian 5 cent coin. I'm pretty sure
that it is in the VF grade. Since VF coins have a wide range, VF20 to VF39,
I would be interested in your opinion of the grading number. Also, please
describe why you gave it the grading number you did.

Differentiating between a PL and uncirculated coin?
Can anyone describe to me how one would differentiate between an uncirculated coin from a bank roll, and the same coin from an uncirculated set that was in a Pliofilm set? I know that you can usually easily identify a specimen (SP) coin from MS or PL. There can be a significant difference in value b...

Re: 1998 Canadian Nickel Improperly Annealed Planchet
Here it is, if it loaded OK.
I can't accurately measure mine either, I just compared it to a regular 1998 5 cent coin.

Re: 1998 Canadian Nickel Improperly Annealed Planchet
Rick, what is the weight of your coin, and also what is the thickness? I have one of these as well; it weighs 4.64 grams (normal), but it is slightly (10%) thinner than a normal 1998 5 cent piece. It has a copper look to it, not nickle. I feel that it could have missed the nickle plating step, excep...

Anyone care to confirm this as a 1929 high 1 cent?
Received this Canadian penny a few days ago as part of a small cent lot.
Anyone care to comment as to whether it is a high 9 variety?
Hope the photo loads OK.
Thanks.
