Re: Magnetic and non-magnetic cents "in the wild"

Another editorial note. :)

In the dollar coin section, there's no listing for 2006 RCM.

Re: Magnetic and non-magnetic cents "in the wild"

Whew! Went thru about 2,000 modern Canadian cents and found three keepers (2009, 2011 & 2012) all thanks to my trusty magnet. Plenty of magnetic 09's, they're easily the most common, very few 2010's of any kind, rather strange. Of course I used coinsandcanada's checklist as my guide. Also...

Magnetic and non-magnetic cents "in the wild"

Last day of a local coin show tomorrow and I'm plopping myself in front of dealer's bowl of modern cents armed with a magnet.

Has anyone found some of the atypical mag (06, 06P, 09, 10, 11, 12) or non-mag cents (06P, 07, 08) in circulation, when they circulated that is. Curious what my chances are.

Looking to trade for moderns

Trying to fill a few holes in my Canadian five cent and ten cent folders.

Dates -

5 cents: 2010, 2012, 2013, 2014
10 cents: 1991, 2008, 2011, 2013, 2014

Plus, if I we can work it out, a nice clean 1947 Dot nickel.

PM me your needs or offers and maybe we can make a deal.

Re: Scarce moderns?

Those are good points Shylo, and in fact one dealer told me he had that exact dilemma about what stock to bring, and at the 11th hour opted to leave 30 boxes of moderns at home. But I'm not despairing. We have smaller coin shows every couple of months and it's a matter of time before I fill the doze...

Re: Scarce moderns?

I would say that at a show that it is not worth it for then to bring a coin that will sell just over face. You might post your short list and one of us might be able to help fill it. They can make more money on one gold coin the size of a dime than a roll of modern dimes. While it's true the high $...

Scarce moderns?

Went to the largest annual coin show this weekend here in Las Vegas with a fairly short shopping list that included various dates from 2008-2013 for my Canadian Whitman folders, dimes and nickels mostly. Left without finding a single date among the dozens and dozens of dealers from all over the coun...

Re: 1867-1967 confederation

I've got one too. I found a listing for it in Krause's Unusual World Coins catalog. They say it's a Royal Canadian Mint issue and has a face value of one dollar. The obverse is the Coat of Arms. They exhibit a prooflike strike and exist in silver or bronze. Weight: 24.5400 grams Actual metal weight ...

Token price guide eventually?

Love this site! It's the first (and best) comprehensive listing of varieties and values I've found on the net. And it's updated frequently, that's so appreciated.

Will it eventually expand to include tokens (Bank of Upper Canada) and the like?

Thanks to all who put this together.
