This style of toning from outer to inner

Someone was asking about this one elsewhere during the whole AT/NT debate.

My thoughts were this was typical of a coin stuck in an early blue Whitman folder that had managed to get warm a few times.

Opinions?

I tend to collect 1923-1937 banknotes but have a big soft spot for the fifty cent pieces. I do buy some RCM products mostly gold and a few of the silver ML privy marks but I've somehow managed to acquire a lot of those 4 $ silver dinosaur coins ... just something about them all being different from ...

Despite the difference in value between MS and PL it's still about collecting what you like. While I certainly enjoy MS state coins I'm always digging to have the nicest PL sets I can. I really enjoy PL cameos because the contrast is so startling against the PL polished backgrounds.
