Re: Two sets of sequenticial 1 dollar 1973 bills

Hi Grant- Welcome to the Coins and Canada website. You say the four notes you have are graded GUNC. I take it then they have been certified. To answer your questions, the OS Prefix notes have a book value of $4.00 each in GUNC. As far as sequential notes , on modern notes there is very little if any...

Re: newbie from NB

First of all, welcome to the Forum. To answer some of your questions, unless it is a rare coin, condition means everything in regards to the value. If most of your newer silver coins are worn, they would only be worth bullion value. As far as your "special" coins, your 1990 bare belly nick...

Re: 1964 Nickel, Extra Water Line, Curled '9'?

I don't think in this case it would make much difference.
Your coin has quite a few dings and scratches so one more
shouldn't make too much difference.
Besides, it is the Obverse that is used for grading, not the reverse.

Re: 1963 Dollar

As far as I know, there is no such thing as an EWL on any year Canadian Silver Dollar.
I have seen some listings claiming an EWL under the canoe, but that is part of the design.
Exactly where is the seller claiming the EWL is?

Re: 1964 Nickel, Extra Water Line, Curled '9'?

It is damage.
It did not happen during the striking of the coin.
Anything that happens after that is PMD.

Caused by one of the several hits the coin has taken
and flattened the edge of the nine.
PMD

Re: Mintage error??

It is not an error and has nothing to do with mintage.
It has taken a hit from something.
You can see where the metal has been pushed aside.
It's called PMD. (Post Mint Damage)
But welcome to the site and feel free to ask more questions
if there is anything you are unsure of.

Re: 1963 pennie error

Was waiting for someone else's opinion but seeing there isn't one
this is what I think it is.
Your 1963 CENT appears to have a partially greased filled die
that is causing the denticles to be smaller.

Re: Hanging 3? or No

I wouldn't.
A hanging three is created by a die clash of the Obverse.
What you have there just appears to be some sort of a bump.

Re: 1973 1$ Bill With AA Serial #

Value would depend on condition of course.
The book price for yours would be between 4 and 16 dollars.
Most collectors prefer their modern notes in uncirculated condition.

Re: 1973 1$ Bill With AA Serial #

That makes it a replacement note but you didn't say what the serial number is.
It makes a big difference.

PS
When inquiring about currency, also include the two names and the complete
Serial number. It makes it easier to search.

Re: 1973 1$ Bill With AA Serial #

It all depends on whether or not it has an asterisk in front of the AA and what the serial number is.
If there is no asterisk, it is just a regular issue AA with no extra value.

Re: 1967 Silver Dollar.

Castor-
Look at the word WHITMAN on the holder on the right side.
It is on the bottom of the reverse and the top of the obverse.
This makes the pictures appear to be a 180o rotation,
although it doesn't prove the coin is rotated.
