Between 1941 & 1949, the last two digits were manually punched.

Looks like corrosion.
Maybe from being buried in the ground.

Re: Question regarding $1 Bill (regarding Series)
No extra value.
They are part of what is known as the two letter series
and with over 1.8 Billion printed, was the most common
of all the prefixes.
Unless the are in CU condition, there value is one dollar.

Re: Manitoba coin
Can't help too much.
All I can tell you is that it is not a coin.
Probably some sort of commemorative medallion.
If you could show pictures, there might be someone
here that would recognize it and give more info.

Re: Question about $1 Bill (1973)
These are part of the Lawson Bouey two letter series.
There were approximately 1.8 billion printed.
They are very common with a book value
In UNC condition of 2 dollars each.

Re: Removing coins from ICCS plastic sleeve?
You did not say what the grades were but I have removed many coins from their holder if they are graded MS63 or lower. If you do not intend on selling them, then why not remove them if you would enjoy them more. There are many people who only collect raw coins. As far as the "cleaned, corrosion...

Re: canadian pennies
Cents were not taken out of circulation until 2012.
As there were over 820 million 2008 minted, the only
ones that might have some value would be an error coin
or a high grade MS66 or MS67.

Don't know too much about error coins,
but I would hazard to guess that it may have
been caused by a loose collar.
Maybe someone with more knowledge on
errors could give an opinion.

Re: Help!? 1953 NSF Near with missing Chrome?
That is a 1953 SF Near.
Hard to tell if it is a missing chrome nickel
or if the chrome has started to wear off.

Re: Liquidating Collection Questions
First of all, welcome to this website. With the Thiessen-Crow signature, that would be the 1986 Series. First of all, why do you think they grade GUNC67. That would be one of the highest grades for these bills and would have to be professsionally graded to sell as such. To find any in that grade wou...

Whoops!!
Don't know what I was thinking. It's not called a filled die.
The error is called a "Struck Through" probably through grease.

Can't tell about the date though, pictures not clear enough,
but if there is doubling, it is probably MD. (Machine Doubling)
