Re: 1901 50 Cent Canada / Grade?

Hi guys, I apologize for the late reply. I did not purchase this coin, the price on eBay went a bit higher than my budget. It is also scary to know how many can be counterfeit product. I don’t have much skill recognizing as I consider my-self fairly new to collecting. 3/4 years, I usually go with th...

Hi guys,

Just wanted an opinion what you guys think of this coin? Fair to say vg8? I am not sure if above the letter D in Canada someone tried to make a hole or spotting?

What do you guys think ?

Thanks

Re: 1901 50 Cent Canada / Grade?

Thanks for the opinions but honestly I am no expert in counterfeit products. Are you referencing to the toning being greenish-uneven?? Appreciate your inpu anyways....I love the hobby...but I can see why it would be a counterfeit. Only 80k minted, last year of queen Victoria and presumably a VF20 th...

Thanks Shylo,

I appreciate your opinion and I felt the same about it. The jewels looked great, price was too much for it.

Cheers,

1910 Ten Cents Canada / grade?

Hey guys,

I'm around XF45-AU50 top on this coin below.

Detail around looks nicely preserved although shows wear around the beard and hair on the King.

Any opinions?

Re: Canadian Coin Variety Book

Hi Ken, Maybe try - The Book of Canadian Coins and Their Varieties - by Pierre Charest. They also talk about errors and give you a good idea on the Canadian numismatic world!! The book has various versions to it depending which years you really enjoy. By the way, coins and canada here under the sear...

1996 toonie, off-centre

Hi guys, Came across this 2 dollar from 1996. I have seen a lot of this issue where it's off-centre slightly to drastically. What do you guys think? Worth keeping around?? Is the rcm quality below par or due to its volume at production times errors should be excpected?? I have seen even newer coins ...

Re: 1948 Silver Dollar

Hi Bill,

Thank you very much for your input on both of my posts. I figured that I may take them both at ICCS in Toronto.
