Re: WTS: Duplicate Canadian & World Notes
I've packaged my 3rd set of notes for a US based collector. Still lots of notes available including "150" Commemorative Tens! BCS graded notes also available. Just ask!

Re: What you collect and why
I have started a thread which features the majority of my private Bank of Canada collection on the CANADIAN PAPER section of the Coin Community Forum ( CCF ). I started the thread b/c in 2018 the Canadian Paper Money Forum shut down so I registered with the CCF . Over the years, I had posted several...

Re: Wonderful hobby of World Paper Money
Over the past 3 years, I've been following a Paper Money Forum (PMF) thread on " UNESCO Natural World Heritage Sites ." It was created by a seasoned collector who goes by CurrencyDen1: https://www.papermoneyforum.com/post/unesco-natural-world-heritage-sites-11781721?pid=1326791167 What a great way t...

Re: what have I got her ,any help
I guess if you build enough hype, there's always someone who will fall for it! (Kind of like what happened with the Zimbabwe 100 Trillion note - which perhaps went "viral" like gamestop stock). I've spent the last 5 years trying to convince the Charlton pricing panel to acknowledge the scarce Mackle...

Re: what have I got her ,any help
Yeah, the PA prefix is a mystery to me. They had 9,400,000 PA issued but huge premium even though its 600,000 short of a full 10,000,000 run. I can't tell you how many of these I've seen of these go to auction with very little interest. Absolutely never see the huge premium realized either. If anybo...

Re: TPG Major Difference
Honestly, I've submitted notes right from bricks which got an UNC 64 from BCS with no "Original." When I called Steve Bell he said it had a scratch on the polymer substrate. I have to take his word for it. But I also know of a US collector who bought an "Original" 58 Devil's Face $5 that got no PPQ ...

Really scarce! WOW! Great note to own. Very few known. (Notice how serial # ends in 499)? That's real. Congrats!

Re: BC-46aS $1 1973 specimen banknote
No, there is no published list that I'm aware of & I don't understand why this is important. Nobody knows what numbers the printers started at & the # of specimens are low (usually below 1000). Keep in mind these notes were not issued to the public & only used for educational purposes (to train bank...

Re: $20 Prefix AIW with serif??
My Charlton has this note at the end of the pricing panel for 1991 $20 (BC-58 )*: Note 6 $20 insert replacements notes come in blocks of 18,000 or multiples of 18,000, starting with the Knight-Dodge signature. However on the pricing table, there is Knight-Thiessen AWE (Below 160,000); AWH (below 100...

Re: Varieties and details of Bank of Canada banknotes
Not sure if you are aware of this (or not) but you have incorrectly listed the GOG $5.00 TEST note under the Thiessen-Crow signature combination when it should only be (correctly) listed under the Bonin-Thiessen signature combo. Your link shows the problem & here is a screen capture I took. Last lin...

I was going to post something on Canada Day (07/01) & Independence Day (07/04) for our US neighbour collectors to the south but got caught up in other stuff. For Canada Day I was going to post this $5.00 Journey solid radar. This note I posted elsewhere (CCF World Sub) also to spark any opinions on ...

Re: Serial Number Registries
Canadian banknotes have serial number prefixes . They were single letter in 1935 series (A or B for English & F for French) & in 1937 the prefix system became fractional (A/A). In 1969, the prefixes became 2 letters (side by side) like AA. In 1979, the serial number was re-positioned to the back of ...
