Re: Customs and Boarder Duties and taxes.
Thanks for the reply. I really hope I get a refund. I do have proof that I sent these coins from Canada to the USA for grading. I also have record from the shipping carrier I had used when I shipped it down there. I also noticed something weird that PCGS does. I sent them a total of 7 coins to be gr...

1929 George V Nickel Variety From PCGS
Hi Folks, Does anyone know how to differentiate between the Near S vs the Far S variety of the 1929 George V nickel?
It's recognized by PCGS but I couldn't find any examples to teach me how to identify the different varieties.
Your knowledge will be greatly appreciated.

5 oz. $50.00 Silver Coin with Murano Glass - Holiday Splendour 2018
Hello my fellow numismatist. I have an opportunity to buy the 5oz Murano glass 2018 Holiday splendour $50.00 silver coin and would like to validate it's authenticity. I don't have a money oozing out of my ears so I don't own a sigma machine. However I do have a pocket-pinger, a magnet, a digital mic...

1oz Silver Maple 2025 Charles
Hi folks. I just purchased 6 Tubes of 25 silver maple from the mint. They are beautiful to say the least. As I was inspecting these beauties I noticed a very large oddity on one of the coins. Right above the head of Charles on the obverse I noticed a line. This came right out of the sealed tube from...

Re: Golden Quarter
1968 coins had 50% silver and 50% copper. If you take a torch to the coin it will rapidly increases oxygen absorption of the silver and copper which causes a golden yellow hue tone. I've tried experimenting with junk silver coin of both 80% silver and 50% silver. The 50% tends to look more yellow. F...

Re: 1930 Netherlands 2 1/2 Gulden Possible Error
I kinda had my suspicions that it was added after mint as well. I wasn't too sure of myself because it is a circulated coin and the scratches could have been caused by everyday use.
Thank you for your insight.

Re: Data base
I'm using a phone app called coinsnap.
It lets me take photo's checks it online for on going pricing fluctuations and I am able to review and search my collection. Only problem with it is that it's tablet and phone based. You can't use it on a PC.

1930 Netherlands 2 1/2 Gulden Possible Error
Hi folks. I have seen lots of Netherlands coins but never something like this. To me it looks like a very big Die Chip when it was struck on the reverse of the coin. But from my understanding the Utrecht Mint in the 1930s virtually had virtually no errors as their quality control was very good. Plea...

Re: RARE DISCOVERY 2023 CHARLES III Loonie, error or not?
I find that pure acetone works well at removing finger print marks. Next time wear some cotton cloves when handling the coin. I use latex finger condoms. they seem to work well as it maintains a good grip on the coin when handling it.
