Re: Landon/Victoria North Collection

I had a quick review of some of the final prices just a few hours back. A few were way over paid for in my opinion. I am still very much and amateur but just my thoughts on it. Some were more reasonably priced. I definitely do not agree with some of the grading. I saw one coin that was listed as an ...

Re: Landon/Victoria North Collection

Thanks for the site. Some very nice items to have on a wish list. I must sell off a number of my coins and bank notes before I look at something like these. Have not followed auctions before but will start looking for some to follow. I have attended two private auctions my club held (closed to our m...

Re: Landon/Victoria North Collection

I'm curious,

Where can you see this on the web?

Not interested in buying anything but curious to see what they have and the final sales prices.

Re: Books on Grading

One more thing.

Also check out the grading section of this website.

There are a few samples of graded coins there. Not many but some to get started.

Re: Books on Grading

Hi coinme, Not sure where you live but in general in all major cities you can usually find coin dealers who should carry the book Shylo recommended. You should also buy Charlton's "Canadian Coins, Vol 1, Numi Issue 2015". At the front of these they have a few pages with descriptions of the...

Re: What is the best book for US coins and other foreign coi

Thanks for the input, I will check the websites out.

Will also possibly try the library to see if they have any of the books before buying.

Will also check with some of my coin club members.

Re: Books on Grading

Hi Shylo, I did manage to track down the information below but don't know if it is up to date. I also checked the Canada411.com site but it does not have a Vancouver listing. I may try and give a phone call to the listed number later in the week, but at the moment I'm to busy with trips visiting a f...

What is the best book for US coins and other foreign coins

What is the best book for realist pricing of US coins. Some people have recommended the Red Book, however I find it lacking the quality or details that Charlton's has for Canadian coins. They basically just show PL and SP for the majority of coins. Also what do you recommend for other currencies. I ...

Re: This C&C site

Hi Bill, As I mentioned in my first posting a few weeks back, numicanada.com definitely has more activity then coinsandcanada.com. None of the chat room topics are translated from French to English or vise versa. Lightw4re does do a good job on his translation for pricing and grading notes. If you w...

Re: Books on Grading

Hi Shylo,

I think the site you are referring to might be www.coinoisseur.com. I just tried it but unfortunately it does not appear to be running at the moment. It's hard to say what the problem might be but hopefully it might just be temporary.

Taking pictures of coin

I hope to build one of a similar nature and buy my self a macro lens for my DLSR http://www.coinsandcanada.com/forum/class/test/camera_microscope_001.jpeg I hope this image was added. If not can someone p...

Re: thanks Lightw4re for great website (& other contributors

Hi Bill, Yes the French site definitely has more activity. They sometimes have things that are not necessarily found on the few English sites that I know of (I'm still finding them). Wish my French was up to par, then I could translate them and post them on this site. I will post something from ther...

thanks Lightw4re for great website (& other contributors)

Greetings to everyone. This is a great website. A special thanks to Lightw4re for all the excellent work that is put into this site and the French site - NumiCanada.com. I go NumiCanada periodically because even though my French is currently not the best, NumiCanada sometimes has a little more infor...
