Re: Canadian $50 bills

Prefix EHF and EHC are part of the same series so the values would be the same. Actually your comment is incorrect! Although the notes are from the same series.... The EHF prefix has two different signature Varieties. Lawson Bouey 6440000 printed and Crow Bouey 3560000 printed The Lawson Bouey sign...

Re: Cashing in old bills

Removing an item from circulation increases the value of the item(s) left in circulation. e.g. 1934 "S" US Peace Silver Dollar. I cannot speak for your US coin but your comment is far from reality Just because something is removed from circulation does not make others more valuable If an item is no...

Re: Cashing in old bills

I look at it this way, me destroying $406 worth of common old banknotes just made everyone's collection worth a little more! ... that is, if someone at the bank didn't pocket them! First of all, I doubt by returning the notes it made any difference to anyone’s collection value however, it may have ...

Re: Cashing in old bills

At least coins have metal value and are harder to counterfeit Unless silver ... metal value on a coin is basically nil As for counterfeiting coins you would be surprised that you can pretty well get most coins from China for pennies The rarer coins are made in large quantities said to be sold as fi...

Re: Are these miscuts?

I have to agree
This can be easily re created and
Unlikely anyone would pay a premium
For the note
In fact even if a collector needed a 100.00 note for their collection this would not be worth keeping even at face value

Re: Treated bank note????

Treated can mean a number of things But basically the note had in some way shape or form been altered usually to enhance the notes appearance Chemicals are often used to brighten or clean a note and usually one can smell the note As though bleach was used Or issues can pressing a note to straighten ...

Re: Found a slight misprint on a $20 2012 issue

The dropped digit is actually pretty common And unlikely to receive any premium over face value unless
Maybe in a high grade and even then likely
Only a few bucks
