Re: $1 bill sequence numbering

There's a good amount of waffling and I'm not sure if I can see some creases at the corners (dog ears) or if it's just my eyes playing tricks on me.... Conservatively I would say EF.. with a slight chance it may be AU If you want to get rid of it there's a few ways you can do it... 1) Sell to a deal...

You might be onto something there with the Netherlands... they have used lions in the past.

30 Stuivers or Koggerdaalder is pretty close.. not an exact match... but CLOSE!

Re: Old Canadian (1683) coin - can anyone identify this?

I looked through all the english and came up with nothing that's similar... my best suggestion would be to go to the library and pick up a krause catalog and start looking... your pictures have some of the legends cut off so it's pretty hard to tell .. I'd recommend turning the coin right side up (I...

Re: Old Canadian (1683) coin - can anyone identify this?

First picture rotate it counterclockwise 90 degrees and it should be right side up...

Last picture rotate it 90 degrees clockwise and it will be right side up..

The very last picture looks like it's a crown with a shield and a lion below.

To me that suggest it's English so I would start there...

Why would you pay money to get them appraised when there's people on here that would be happy to do it for free.

Re: Nickel sets

The 1858 - 1901 will do well on their own if they're vf or better... 1902-1910 / 1910-1920/ 1922-1936 et. al. ... I would just keep these in as a group... unless they're EF - AU or better. Most of the coins I have seen in this date range are usually fine and they move as a group.. if you sell one fr...

Re: Error 2005 Canadian Toonie, Middle Planchet Punched Nickel

Unless this was certified... this coin has 11' pole written all over it.

My understanding of the process of how the inner core is placed and stamped inside the outter core to create the inner rim, leads me to believe that either my understanding of the process is wrong or this coin has been altered

Re: Old corroded Canada Token? Can you Identify It?

to me the image looks like 3 shields at E, S & W with a crown at the N and a center design of something but of what I'm not sure.

as for cleaning it... I would recommend using vasoline and a toothbrush... might be able to loosen and get some of that corrosion and crud off.

Re: Old corroded Canada Token? Can you Identify It?

I think bill is onto something... it's not Canadian that's for sure... the second I saw it I thought it might be a 1 or 2 ore from sweeden. I have a feeling this is copper but place of origin I'm not exactly sure of...

try on google for a reverse image search and see what pops up
