Not an error, that part has been intentionally ground off, possibly to make a love token.
It is considered a damaged coin.

Agree that it is a counterfeit.
Another way of telling is the style of the 6

Re: 2023 quarter

Bill
Look at the bottom of the “I” above the “M”, it has the same type of chip. There is
nothing on the Obverse like that to cause a clash. Doesn’t really matter too much
though, there is no added value either way.

Re: 2023 quarter

That is a die chip on the “M” and Machine Doubling on the type. This is quite common
on these quarters with the sunken type. About 60% have MD.
In the future, please try to avoid screen shots, they are too pixilated to see fine detail.

Much better photos but they are still only worth face value in US currency.

Re: 1996 2 dollar canadian

Once these toonies are circulated, it is almost impossible to tell the difference.
The main difference was the finish which disappears with wear. From the photo
supplied I can’t see any of the lines.

None are worth much over face value. Very common dimes.

To me it looks like a close 6.
Maybe a sharper closeup would determine which it is.

Re: 1967 and 1979 US quarters

Please crop your photos to enlarge them. You are not giving us much to go on.
As the other coins you have posted they are worth about face value in that condition.
They are known as pocket change coins and it would be hard to find a buyer.

Re: 1985 can 10 cents

It is just a regular 10 cent piece. There were 142,800,000 minted.
Not rare and worth 25 cents at the most.

Re: 1995 canadian 5 cents

All 1996 5 cent coins are non magnetic, they are nickel plated copper.
Hard to evaluate condition from those photos but is only worth about $1-2.00,
why do you think it is worth more.

Re: 2001P Canadian 5 cent error

I wouldn’t put too much stock in that coin dealer if he can’t tell the difference between damage and an error. These have been posted more times than I can remember on various coin forums. They are easy to spot as the lettering is in reverse and concuse. If it was a genuine error, the lettering woul...

Re: 2001P Canadian 5 cent error

Welcome to the Forum

Pictures are pretty bright to see the detail but it looks like what is called a "Vise Job"
where 3 coins have been squeesed together leaving the impressions on the middle coin.
This is just a damaged coin with no numismatic value.
