Re: Help grading - New Member
PL coins will always sell for much much less than circulated coins in the same "apparent" condition. EVERY coin that the RCM issued in the plastic will be 65 or a little above and every one of them went into a drawer or box or album untouched by hands. As such, there are many more of the coins than ...

I think that they must have been talking about creative journalism, like EBay "I'm going to try to get this for it" ads

Re: 1890 50 cent coin
Wow! I need my eyes checked! I had just glanced at an old Trends and saw 1898 (G-4 at $60) as the 1890. My mistake and agree it's a real keeper.

Re: 1890 50 cent coin
The coin can't increase or decrease in value due to the wear. It is scrap silver and, with that much wear, you'd probably get on about 80% of scrap silver price. I have corrected the post I made here. I had cut and pasted a 50 cent post that I made on another site, which was for .800 Ag, not .925. I...

Yes, yours is a "blundered I". The first one I don't know because the 2 letters are "dpubled" so bad.

Re: Error worth getting graded? 2 SNs skip up note.
You are not interrupting anything and this is the proper place to post. You will get all the help right here, no problem. It's just that your attachment made my computer scream "unsafe site" and then I saw all the spam product on the same page and under your excellent photos. This site has been hack...

Re: Error worth getting graded? 2 SNs skip up note.
I have asked the moderator to remove your attachments of the banknote. It contains lots of stuff after your photos that looks like a playground for spam and radical podcasts.

Re: Gold Coin to sell
Here's what they have sold for recently on Ebay. Prices are in US dollars. For Canadian, multiply by 1.27, so $450 US would be about $560 Canadian. https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_nkw=1976+14K+Canadian+Olympic+%24100+Gold&_in_kw=1&_ex_kw=&_sacat=0&LH_Sold=1&_udlo=&_udhi=&_samilow=&_samihi...

Re: 1858 Canada 10 Cents blundered I
Can you show more photos? Usually, the "blundered" coins (that I've seen) have some letter or design element directly below what appears to be an alignment mark between the denticles. Without seeing any more photos of the coin and design, it looks like machine doubling, but that's just a guess since...

Re: USSR rare coin with mint error worth regrading?
I'm not familiar with Russia coins. If you have a coin club in the area, maybe try it there. If not, a larger coin show to take around to dealers. MD is caused by the die being a little loose in the chuck/holder and it slightly moves when the die comes off the coin on the uptake.

Re: $300 platinum coin - what to do?
If you check the Ebay "sold" prices for 1 oz platinum, it's about $1200 US, which is about $1500 Canadian. I don't think that you will get much more than scrap price, which is a little over $1025US, which is about $1260 Canadian. The precious metal RCM stuff rarely sells for anything close to the is...

Re: USSR rare coin with mint error worth regrading?
I don't see any "double die" from the small photo above. I DO see what looks to be machine/mechanical doubling, with the "shadow image" on the middle left side and the left 2 large "C's"

Re: Copper Coin Grading Red/Brown
Red and/or red luster will make a difference on PCGS coins, but not ICCS. Many MS coins will have bag marks/dings even though not circulated and in the 60+ the marks are what counts.

Re: Copper Coin Grading Red/Brown
The MS number has nothing to do with R, RB or B. It is all about wear and surface marks. You can have a red 62, just like you can have a 65 RB

Re: USSR rare coin with mint error worth regrading?
Yes, you are in the right place for the foreign coins subforum. Sorry I can't help with your Russian coin, but can you post a photo? What is the "error" with the coin as well?
