HI My name is Gerry and I collect coins. :D

I found this site about a week ago and have found a great deal of information here that I couldn't find on any other site.

Mainly the explanation of the coin varieties and good pictures that show the difference between them.

I have been collecting for over 50 years and the time has come to start selling and enjoy the time I have left, which I hope is another 20 or so years.

I have just started putting some of my common date silver dollars on Ebay to get the feel of it before getting to the better coins and bills.

I've looked through the site at the price of some of the better coins.

I have one that isn't listed in either places the prices up to AU and the coins that have sold on Ebay. It is an ICCS certified MS 63 1909 25 cents, with light gold toning.
Can anyone give me an idea of what it may be worth?

Ok I have two questions. A few years ago, I got in change, a 1953 1 cent that I at first thought was something someone had chromed. Not so this is made of aluminum. Other than the material and weight you can't tell it from a regular coin.
Any ideas on this one? I'll see if I can get a picture of it on the weekend.

That is enough for now.
Gerry

I have provided a link on another site to your posted thread. You may hear from some established experts relatively soon.

Please send me a PM or email. Someone has some of your answers, but he's not a member here. I live right up the road from you in Burlington.

Well good news and bad news.
The good news first I have pictures of my 1909 MS 63 25 Cents and the 1953 1 cent.
First the 1909.

Now the bad news for me. I scratched the coin (Left side) to see what happend and it still looks like Alum.

At this time I said to myself, that was a real dumb A$$ thing to do, now it's not worth anymore than 1 cent. So it goes!

So I rubbed the edge on some emery cloth. Now I don't feel so bad.

Whatever is on there is thick.
