Coin Shows

Post by davetomalex » Tue Apr 02, 2013 8:38 am

Hello all, I was just wondering what everyone's experiences with coin shows are. There is one near my house this Saturday. There are only a few coins I'm interested in purchasing (most notably a 1923 Canadian cent). Are the prices at coin shows on par with what you can find on ebay? Even if I don't purchase coins at the show are they worth going to just to see some interesting coins and meet other enthusiasts?

Thanks all!

If it is a large enough show (more than 25 tables or so) I think that you will find prices there much better than you will find on Ebay, and you can shop around. Even if you don't buy anything, a coin show is worth its weight in gold by looking at 100's of examples of graded coins and see what the "real" market is doing and not prices that are published in annual retail guides. Go to the show and enjoy yourself .. it's worth it.
