Breaking up a proof like set

Post by jawkneebye » Thu Mar 31, 2016 6:58 pm

I have a few 1966 coin proff like sets in plastic. The value of these coins individually at PL64 grade almost doubles the set value. Why would I sell them as a set vs individually?

Because you might care about the integrity of the original packaging more than the profit value of the individual coins? Because you have to consider the added time costs involved in selling the coins individually? You should sell one each way just to see how much more "valuable" the individual coins are in the end. Then consider how much more time/effort you put into selling the individual coins of the set that you break up.
