Read this and then think back to when you had a chance to go to one of Mike Marshal's seminars at major coin shows or to buy his CD in current fakes and counterfeits. It also a primer why you shouldn't count on any TPG's opinion .. learn to grade and ID yourself and not on a 15 second glance by a TPG.

Thank you very much Bill to let us know about it.
This is the last scary thing I wanted to know before Halloween.
I will post about these new fake coins on the French forum.

An unidentified coin is a piece of metal. An identified coin is a piece of history.

I think that this Chinese Ebay vendor is where most of the coins discussed in the thread started from. It was a 1914 Edward 10 cent Uncirc that started the thread and, looking at the Chinese vendor's "sold" items, he also has a 1912 & 1916 Edward 10 cent and a 1909 George 10 cent. If any of you readers have bought from this guy, start Ebay and Paypal action to get your money back:

Thank you Bill,
This is really appreciated. I have forwarded on the French forum this CC thread you have posted here so that everyone is aware of these new generation chinese fakes that have been sold recently as genuine coins on eBay.
I have requested advice and comments about Canadian coins sold by the Spanish seller on eBay:

I hope those archived sales won't disappear in the next hours as it happens often with chinese sellers.

I understand from Bobby that, once the coins have been sold on Ebay, there is nothing that they can do. The Spanish seller has no items currently for sale. Once sellers have been ID'd it is easy for them to change their name and sell under the new name until they are discovered again. Someone lost a good deal of money by buying them.
