Centennial dollar coins

Post by naisy » Tue May 29, 2018 1:40 pm

Someone gave me two Centennial dollar coins.(1975 Calgary and 1980 Northern Territories) He said they're silver. I've used a magnet on them, and they're not magnetic, but that doesn't guarantee that they're silver. How can I find out what they're made of, without ruining them? And what might they be worth?

Both those Dollars are Commemorative Silver Dollars.
They are 50% Silver and 50% Nickel and came in a leatherette style case.
The Calgary Dollar goes for around $12.00 with the case
and the Arctic Territories goes for around $20-25.00 with the case.

Edit to my last statement.
Should have proof read it.
Coins are 50% Silver and 50% COPPER not Nickel
