2003P Old Effigy Non-Mag Penny

Post by ahydroboy@aol.com » Mon Dec 12, 2022 7:51 pm

I have a 2003P uncirculated coin set inside what I call the old cellophane wrap. Its sealed and has a serial number with it.
Inside the set the penny ( old effigy P ) is non-magnetic. Do I use the proof column to determine its value as there are no values on any of the other columns?
Seems odd.

There were no PL coins issued after 1967 so I would say that the PL columns are meant for the Proof coins.
If you have a non magnetic 2003P cent, I would certainly break it out and send it off to be certified and graded.

I would have to cut open the mylar. Will that lessen the value?

And thanks for the reply

If you are looking to sell it, then break it out and get it authenticated and graded.
If you are going to keep it, then leave it as it is, no sense spending the money as you know what you have.
