Mule Designation

Post by dryflycaster » Tue Dec 13, 2011 6:40 pm

I did a quick search but I was unable to find the answer to my question. That being, what does the designation "Mule" mean?

Thanks!

Thank you for the quick reply. I gather from this that there is nothing specific between coin types other than the use of a different die than normal for one side. Hence a mule for one type of coin like the 99 Sep and Nov quarter examples that both lack the demoination could be something totally different for another type of coin or perhaps even the same type.
