is there a 'trick' to know if the token is copper or brass? just eyeballing it isnt very definitive. are the brass tokens typically lower weight than 100% copper for example? here are 4 coins from my collection. i have more :>
#1 LOOKS COPPER for sure? but the others? a trick would be great. the weights are from 7.9 to 9.9gm

Brass will have a slightly "yellowish" appearance. If you are familiar with Canadian large cents, they are bronze, which is 95% copper 4 % tin and 1% zince. Brass is normally 67-85 copper and 33-15 zinc. I'm not sure about any significant weight difference, but the atomic weights of copper and zinc is well less than 1%:
29 Copper 63.546
30 Zinc 65.3
Tin is almost 3X heavier than zinc: Cu + Sn = bronze, Cu + Zn = brass
