Agree.
A common occurance caused by vending machines or sometimes coin wrapping machines.
No extra value, still worth 50 cents

Is the "point" raised? It looks like, from the photo, that there is a larger "crater around the "point" and inside your red circle. Can you provide a clearer, photo without the red circle?

I just copied the photo above. I noticed that when I saw the rolling machine rings that he was asking about. Just curious if you might look at the photo above without the circle. Thanks JoeBill in Burl wrote: ↑Fri Dec 18, 2020 10:27 amIs the "point" raised? It looks like, from the photo, that there is a larger "crater around the "point" and inside your red circle. To me, it looks like something whacked it that had a round shape and an indent that made the "point" on the coin as it was hit. Definitely PMD.

Thanks for the answer. With the Covid coin shortage down in the states we’ve been giving out half dollars instead of quarters and I’ve noticed it seems to brighten peoples day to get one.Bill in Burl wrote: ↑Fri Dec 18, 2020 6:03 pmTo me, it looks like something whacked it that had a round shape and an indent that made the "point" on the coin as it was hit.
