My luck may be changing hopefully with this one ! Atleast this has an actual error visible to the eye. Please any advice if this is something to hold onto ;-)

You don’t indicate as to what you are referring to but if it is the mark on Lincoln’s forehead,
that is just damage from a hit. You can see the displaced metal.

Oh my gosh I am sorry 👀 didn't want to be embarrassed & say the wrong things again bc I really felt stupid after lol. I am sooo new at this & relied on YOUTUBE sites & was given so many false and decietful GRADES about my US coins & my Canadian coins saying they worth $$$ to than only finding out they are just regular coins 😔

#1- I don't know what to call it BUT there is a line going through the words " in God we trust " just below the rim and goes around to the letter E in the word ONE? ( is this called off center? ) .
#2 -also looks like a line in the letter " U " in the word " Pluribus " so would that be considered an error or is it just extra die?
#3- I know the letters on coins in some words eventually wear down, but I have 2 of the same year but look different? The one I posted is darker than the other coin which is more shinerer (variety maybe ? ). I will post picture of the 2 of them side by side if that helps at all?

No need to feel stupid for asking a question, that’s how we all learn.

#1 - That is called a ridge ring caused by a deteriorating die.
#2 - That looks like a plating bubble, very common on zincoins.
#3 - If you are referring to the S and O, that is just a weak strike caused by lack of metal.

If you are referring to something else, I will wait for pictures.

The line is ridge ring, it happens on coins struck by a very worn die, very common on US cents, and not desireable.
Your coin also suffers from zinc rot, spend it if you can before it rots away.

Anywhere I can view a coin book like a charslton
This site has a lot of information about Canadian Coins and varieties. Just click on Canadian Coins at
the top left corner of the main page. Charlton does not have a website but you can buy used copies online.
As far as US coins go, you need to buy a redbook, it has a lot of information on US coins.
If you are interested in errors, go to a website such as error-ref.com
Don't forget, you will never learn everything about coins but you can increase your knowledge each day.
