1981 quarter weight 5.32g

Post by debnak1705 » Sun Oct 15, 2023 6:27 pm

Little damaged but I believe it's on a wrong planchet. Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you in advance.

What planchet do you think it was struck on then.
There is a +- tolerance of 1.9g plus lost weight due to damage would
probably account for the lighter weight.

Not quite sure what kind of planchet it would be. Doesn't quite fit in the collar. But could be damage I guess.

Can you see the copper core showing on the edge?

If you can see copper on the edge, then it is just a regular 25 cent business strike.
