1975 nickel damaged

I found this coin from what I can tell. It looks like acid damage, but when I look at the E in cent it look like mint damage. Also, the damage is not in the same direction on both sides .When I put it on the table, it does not sound like other nickels. It sounds like a different Planchet and it weighs only 2.57 instead of 4.5 . I do not believe half of it is missing. I think it’s a wrong planchet but I could be wrong. Any advice or ideas on what could be going on? I have no idea what kind of planchet it would be. It sounds tin like?

Even though it's nickel, it has been exposed to chemical environmental damage and corrosion. There's nothing that causes any of that from the mint. It has been eaten away from the inside out, hence the weight, it may be physical damage that started it all off.
