Does this appear to be a 1929 high 9? It looks that way to me. Just wanting others opinions.

Thanks

Yes I did have a look there but just wanted to be sure. I got that off eBay for $12 and it appears to be between a vg8-f15 so I think I did ok on it. I'll post a pic of it once I receive it. Thanks for looking.

I got the coin the other day and just got around to taking a photo. Here it is cropped in tight and now I am certain it is a high 9. Thoughts?

Hi coinme

I don't think your coin is a true "high 9", as the true "High 9" has the bottom of the tail of the 9 right in line with the bottom of the 2. Your coin looks more like a "Medium 9", with the tail of the 9 half above and half below the bottom of the 2. The "Low 9" has the top of the tail of the 9 right in line with the bottom of the 2. And if that's not confusing enough, there are varieties which you might call "Medium-High 9" and Medium-Low 9" which fit in-between. Crazy, eh? You'd need to get a few of these under your microscope (Nice pictures you posted, by the way!) to compare and see the difference. Very subtle, but it's there.
