1942 Georgivs VI Penny error?

Vertical portion of the E in ET is missing. Die error? Any knowledgable input on this coin will be appreciated. Thanks.

Top 2 pics are zoomed in and screenshot. I'm also looking to have a grade estimate by anyone fairly good at it and am wondering how much an error like such would affect a coins price? Thanks.

There's a dark area through what would be the upper vertical section. Is there any evidence of something external knocking it off?

Looks like damage to me.
Can't see how this could have happened during
the striking of the coin.
I would grade it at VG8
