Classifying 1859 one cent, am I on the right track

Hi all

Got this nice example at auction and am using the www.vickycents.com website to study it and understand the issue better.

The Haxby classification is challenging to me as a newbie. So far I've got:

Obverse: radial die cracks at GIN and EI, so obverse 45a.

Reverse: Leaf 9 and 2 match J3. But, there's definitely some doubling to the "85" as well, especially the 5 looks repunched. The 9 looks like a normal narrow 9.

So this leads me to PC59-147 with some doubt, as the date punch isn't exactly a match.

Maybe someone out there who finds this fun could have a look and comment / critique, I've tried to add good images but there's only so much one can do with a camera phone and desk lamp. Thanks for looking.

Since there were many fewer Obv dies used rather than Revs (due to theintricate leaf patterns), I'd start with the C in Canada first to get it down to a handful of Obv dies. Then the D/.C's at the I-C in Vict and Regina and you'll be able to find your Obv. For the REv, the D/C's ar 5, 6, 7 and 12. Then you can go to the stems. Very nice AU coin.
