What rumour did you hear?
Shiny does not equal value. There were over 136 million of the P nickels produced so unless it grades
about MS 66, there is not a lot of value in them. Of course you can keep them if you like.

I know " Not all shiny things are valuable " & I was watching a YouTube video about Errors on coins and what to look out for and it mentioned this coin to be "Rare" bc the P were only stamped on so many that year?
Anyhow I appreciate your matter of fact response πŸ‘ though I was just being silly

Somebody is just trying to promote the 2001 P nickel by saying it is rare. As I stated, there were over
136 million struck. That is actually more than the 2001 without the P.
Don’t believe everything you read on You Tube concerning coins, most of those are just from people
trying to get hits on their site, get your information from a Charlton catalogue or from the various coins
forums and sites that are readily available.
