I had another one I'd posted a while back, but I still for the life of me can't figure the bead thing out.

Thoughts on variety, perhaps (PL) grade, what these things go for (it's all over the place looking at prices realized)?

Cheers.

Small beads, pointed.
Pick up a copy of the 2012 Charlton (66th edition) if you are going to collect these. You can tell which of the beads by looking at how the I and right leg of Regina line up with the bead above. Directly under= small, just left= med, right or between beads= large. Don't be buying varieties unless you know what they are. The first $200 any collector should spend is on books .. long before the first coin.

Cheers, Bill! I just wanted to know b/c I a) wasn't sure, and b) spent $13USD on it. I am going to pick up some more books on these. I wound up with a whack of 60's half dollars and quarters as well. Trying to better grasp proof/proof-like etc. vs MS.

Thanks again.

For $13, it could have hammer marks on it and still be OK. The 2012 Charlton has the silver dollar variety section in the back .. there should be plenty on the secondary market for less than $10.
