A few years ago I received this loonie in some loose change. I had never (or since) seen one like it. I contacted the RCM who said it was not one of there's. I finally contacted this forum who gave me a lead on Ebay. The seller had only seen one and he didn't know where it came from. A local coin dealer offered me $36, but I said 'no'.

I am curious if anyone out there knows where this coin received it's colouring. To me, looking at the 'CANADA DOLLAR' reddish letters which are slightly mis-aligned, it was done by machine.

Any information would be appreciated.
