Quick question about grams.

I just purchased a bunch of nickels and lumped in was a 2004 Canada silver dollar... I think. I know silver and gold coins tend to be faked a lot, (I once got a fake 2005 1oz 50 dollar coin, which was easy to id) So I am always suspicious of getting a (non-identified) precious metal coin in a lot... although faking a 30 dollar coin might be a bit overkill... I just would never want to hold onto, nor resell something fake.
The dollar passed the mag test, the ping test, and the ice cube test with flying colours. But... the spec on this coin is 25.18g. This weighs 27g even.
The diameter is correct, and thickness too.
So my question is to you all, is there a "wiggle room" to larger coins in respect to grams?
Cheers
