Can someone please tell me why the Fu Manchu variety in MS-63 and higher selling above book

If you are looking at prices in the listings on this site, those are just a guide and can be higher or lower.
I do notice the selling price on this coin is higher but it is a case of supply and demand.
Personally I can’t see paying such a high premium for a die clash as they certainly aren’t uncommon
but because someone gave it a fancy name, it becomes collectible.

One of three reasons;
a) supply and demand
b) error in the price guide
c) a fool and his money.....

well guys these coins are selling at high levels. MS-65 is going for over a thousand.
1935 swl ms-65 sold Saturday at a Quebec auction for close to $3000. I know you guys don't like these coins but there a lot of people that do.

I vote for supply and demand. You dont like it, dont buy it. But others might. Which is fine. A hobby for everyone.
