No. The extra sale is just one of the approximately 13 different varieties
of that Toonie. It would cost more to grade than what it is worth.

No, no use to get it graded, except spending money, as they are pretty common coins. The mint just didn't get it's act together when they colored or highlighted the sails. They made golden spaces between the lines that held the sails up. They should have been open air to see past the ropes/lines but they colored them in. There are all kinds of places on those twonies where they colored in places that should have been open sky. Pretty common and how it got the name "extra sail", I'll never know .... there is no extra sail, just colored-in open air.

These are listed on eBay for $129-$425
One actually sold for $129
One listed as extra sail sold for $5 but it was a misattributed normal sail type.
I'm surprised both ICCS and CCCS will grade these.

That's from people believing what's written on a holder rather than their own eyes ... and also believing what CaC allows in the "variety" section of their site. They are just "raw" submissions by members that mean nothing and are given any name that the submitter wants to attach to them. Other than a nice photo on the CaC variety section, people need to disregard the submissions at the bottom AFTER the reconized varieties which are valid.

Even in the original phto of this thread, there are 3-4 other "extra sails" at the top of the mast that are really supposed to be open air.

Thanks Guys. I was wondering because I have a buyer who wants to pay $400 for a graded one. Again thanks for the info. :Cowboy:
