Hello All,
Just looking for a little help with grading this Upper Canada One Penny Token. I'm rather new to pre-Confederation coinage/tokens. Plus, one man's EF is another's AG lol.
I'm starting to understand that die cracks are rather common(ish) with these and the half pennies (assuming it does not add any premium). there are also two incomplete roses (I'm assuming they are roses?). they are not worn, they are incomplete under the loupe.
I've also tried to ascertain a value, but it's so up and down on price realized on eBay and other auction sites; as well as other online information sources. One minute you'll see an astronomical price realized; the next, a few bucks -- and the coins seem extremely similar.
I have no complaints any way around it as I've gotten these (and several other large cents) rather inexpensively here in the US from dealers just begging for some Canadian to come along and give them a few dollars for them.
All in all it is a nice uncleaned, unpolished, well kept piece.
Anyway, any and all help is, as always, greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Steve
