Really NGC?

This coin was graded by NGC. Anyone care to guess what grade was assigned?

Although I am good with bank notes, I am not too good and still learning with coins.

Yet looking at this one I know that they would have looked at hair and ear on the obverse and crown on the reverse.

As the hair and ear appear to show little wear on the obverse and the crown on the reverse has some but not too much, I think they may have graded it at AU50 to AU55.

Where is Bill in Burlington and a few other of the good graders we have.

I look forward to seeing how they graded it.

The photo isn't magnified enough to see real well, but I'd say mid-XF. Don't know if there would be any remarks about the carbon spots or the heavy rim scratch. There is definite wear in Vicky's hair, eyebrow and braid.

I would say EF40 if graded in Canada.

I suppose enough time has gone so I will now tell you all. AU55

As most of you correctly assessed. Should have been no higher than EF40.

All I can say once again is; Fraudulent TPG is a real threat to the hobby. Buyer beware.
