FPN abbreviation

Is the fpn # the small number in the field above and at the left edge of the Bank of Canada banner?

Not necessarily.

It is at different places on different bills and series.

Sometimes they are very obvious and other times it is well hidden.

Also don't forget that there were actually a few bills series without FPN's/BPN's.

Check your bank note's specific info with the Charlton book to see if your note should have a FPN.

If you can post a picture of the bill you are looking at and what you think is the FPN, I or someone may be able to confirm it.
