Help me identify my $1 Canadian bank notes

Post by staygold678 » Wed Apr 19, 2017 3:31 pm

Hello,

I have 100 UNC in sequence 1973 $1 Canadian bank notes. I am trying to find a value and am not finding much about the serial numbers I have.

I am also curious if there is any increase to value because I have them in sequence from EAH8300000-EAH8300099.

Thank you for any help,
Mike

There isn't too much of a premium for consecutive numbers in that series but look for
Number EAH 8300038. That would be a three digit radar note which might be worth around $15.00.

Sorry for the question, but why is number EAH 8300038 cost more?

Hello Mike,

Were these notes in a brick (Bought with the mint seal around all 100 - $1.00 notes) or were they loose?

Did you put them in the plastic bags like the 8300099 note is in?

If yes, get them out of there as fast as possible and put them in proper bank note sleeves. I know that I am very fussy when I buy banknotes in a brick. If I decide to crack the seal to put them in bank note sleeves I will only handle them with cotton gloves thus hopefully getting a few Choice or even Gem Uncirculated notes and thus retaining a higher value for individual sales.

I just purchased a brick of the new $10 notes and that is how I will re-package them for my club members.

The plastic bag you have them in will allow for potential bending and creasing thus lowering the grading and value of them.

Your best value now is your one radar note.

Where are you located?
