Hi,
I have this 1954 $5 bill below. I'm no expert but I can't find a flaw on it. I believe it's GUNC. My question is, looking up the bill here why is there such a large value difference between GUNC-65 and 66? Is "66" status and above somehow reserved for bills that were maybe originally purchased sealed never handled or something? Thanks.
Banknote GUNC grading
Re: Banknote GUNC grading
Sorry but that note would not make a GEM UNC grade as it does not have near perfect centring.
By looking at the picture of the front only, it would probably grade at CHOICE UNC.

Oh so centering effects the grade! Good to know. Thanks. (I see I put this thread in the wrong section)
