Thanks. Hopefully, someone on here can give me a ballpark value or direct me where I could get one done.

There used to be a member of the Hamilton Coin Society last year who was an avid collector of shinplasters, but forgot the name. Maybe a call to them or their website may help.

Nice set.

I have a 5 y.o. catalogue so not sure if this will help. The Book Values (BV) are just estimates.

1870
Series A: For Good- $120 VG $250 (I would expect the note to be about $150

Series Large B: Your holder states $175 VF30 -$300 so probably about $200

Series Small B: This has similar BV as the Large B so VF30 -$300 & EF40 $600 (This note looks like the best of the 4). Maybe $500 for your Small B 1870 shinplaster. That note might be worth getting graded.

Plain: Fine notes fetch $75 & VF book at $225. Possibly $150 for your example which appears F+ to me.

1900
Jan 2 1900 Authorized
J.M. Courtney OTTAWA
T.C. Boville
J.C. Saunders
All these appear to sit around the Fine to VF grade level & VF prices ranges from $40 to $60 so probably close to $200 for the lot. These grades are the most common & not actively sought after.

July 2 1923 Not Authorized with red serial numbers and black check letters
C. E. Campbell & W. C. Clark
A, B, C, D, E, H, J, K, L, M

July 2 1923 Not Authorized with red serial numbers and black check letters
S.P. McCavour & J.C. Saunders
A, B, C, D, E, H, J, K, L, M

These are the easiest with the initial Hyndman-Sanders (Authorized & Not Authorized) being the most sought after & the 2nd/3rd signature combos (pictured) being the least (or most available).
Their Book Value for 1923 shinplasters land around $25 in Fine to $35 in VF. The BCS graded 30 & BCSVF35 examples should get you more, about $50 to $60 each as they're "Original" & conservatively graded (very desirable since there's less debate on their grade). Many more Dominion notes were pressed so "original" notes are sought after. Now, its your turn to do the Math (calculate what your entire collection would be worth)!

Hope that helps! Keep in mind these are ballpark figures which would probably be conservative coming from a 5 y.o. catalogue BUT the catalogues don't fluctuate a lot, their increases tend to be slow. Since I can't inspect the notes in person, I cannot really determine their grade (nor determine if they have issues- like being pressed or washed).

Remember, if you're trying to sell these you're best off to sell them individually (not as a lot) since most dealers will want heavy discounts if they buy them together (& they won't give you BV).
