We got to hold it.

From -- http://www.2-clicks-coins.com/article/rare-canadian-coins.html
Apart from silver dollars, Canada also used to mint silver coins of five-cent denomination. They were sometimes called “fish scales” for their thinness. In 1921, the last silver five-cent coins were struck before they were replaced with nickel cents in 1922.

Most of the 1921 Canadian five-cent coins were melted down during the change in coinage and only about 400 specimens are left, to date, making the 1921 Canadian five-cent one of the rarest Canadian coins.

Here it is.

You have to be very very careful when looking at/for the 1921 5 cent. Many fakes have been made or attempted by modifying a 4, 7 or other digit into the final "1" or modifying a 1931 so it looks like a '21'. I would get a loupe out and look real good.

That's the kind of coin i would buy only if they been graded by a professional grading service . I mean would you throw 6K for a coin in a flip . It seem fishy

Not this one. 4 large max. Fercryin out loud, it's barely a VG no?. Obverse-wise that is. The rev tells a different tale though--looks a lot better. Maybe it looks a little too good--if you know what I mean.

Cheers

Thanks for the info Henry...

You know I read the article... and while it said the '48 silver dollar was ranked #4... I sometimes think the argument could be made for the pointed '47 in MS64 or better is much harder to obtain.
