I have several nickel and 5 cent collections and I'm wondering if I would be better off selling them individually or leave them in their sets? The sets are complete.

It really depends what are the date ranges?

The 1858 - 1901 will do well on their own if they're vf or better...

1902-1910 / 1910-1920/ 1922-1936 et. al. ... I would just keep these in as a group... unless they're EF - AU or better.

Most of the coins I have seen in this date range are usually fine and they move as a group.. if you sell one from the set then you may be left waiting a LONG while before someone else needs a particular date, but as a group you'll get those that are looking to upgrade a few coins in their set, or search for varieties.

They keys are really the only ones you need to ever pull out... 1925/1926 and 1921 come to mind....

I bought a whole set from 1905 - 1936 excluding only the '21... for pretty much the price of the '25&'26 ... but I know that had the seller sat and tried to sell all the individual dates they would have been waiting a LONG time.. the other stuff is just too common.
