Question about $1 Bill (1973)

Post by scribby31 » Thu Apr 05, 2018 7:27 am

I recently found two sequential one dollar bills pressed between the pages of a book I bought. They look to be close to mint condition. There are no folds, creases, tears or anything. The serial numbers are FB4171303 & FB4171304.
I began doing a little research to determine if these things had any value beyond their face value. From what I've read, condition plays a huge factor. Serial numbers can as well.
I found a table on a Wiki page which indicates that the FB prefix exists. Not what this means, or why they indicated this which an asterisk in their chart. Can anyone here confirm?
I've attached this table, plus pictures of the two bills for reference. Any help I can attain in determining the value of these would be greatly appreciated.

These are part of the Lawson Bouey two letter series.
There were approximately 1.8 billion printed.
They are very common with a book value
In UNC condition of 2 dollars each.

Thanks for the reply! Just as I figured....not worth much. Oh well, they really are a thing of beauty. I had forgotten just how nice these old bills looked.
