2002 $5 Experimental Banknote ?
I picked up a few of these notes with prefix ANU and only can find infomation that they are experimental notes. With only 60,000 printed. But I can not find any value on them. They are in GEM-Unc Condition. I also have the 1986 $5 matching serial numbers banknotes. Can anyone inlighten me on these please.

According to Charlton, the ANU 5 dollar value in GUNC is $12.00 each.

The ANU prefix are not experimental banknotes. The ANU prefix was set aside for the Lasting Impressions sets (matching serial numbers with the former Birds Series $5). Your note would have matched up with an older BIRD Series $5.00 but somebody bought the set and broke it up (kept the Journey $5) & perhaps sold the BIRDS $5? Who knows but they weren't very popular. The other set were two $10 notes (BEH for the Journey $10) which you can find (an old link) here:William Fowler wrote: ↑Tue Dec 06, 2022 6:29 amI picked up a few of these notes with prefix ANU and only can find infomation that they are experimental notes. The majority of paper money collectors I know shun any type of sets (released by the BoC or the mint) presented in a folder & sold for significant premiums. Everything should be Gem or Choice UNC b/c they were never meant for circulation and that may be the reason for the low Book Value ($13 in my Charlton for Gem Unc). It has always been difficult to break even once one buys a set.
