Post by dan » Sun Oct 11, 2009 1:49 pm

Hi there i think i might have a 1955 canada penny (uncleaned) that i found metal detecting a old school. I looked at it with a strong magifier and i think it's the one without the shoulder strap!! Do you happen to know the value of it and if anyone is interested.. Thanks, Dan.

You saay you found it while metal detecting? Then the chances are that it was buried, or partially buried, and had been for some time, judging from the photos. T e obv is so bad, that it would be hard to tell , and the rev does not show all that much "value. I would not worry about diong any more "harm" to it, trying to "see what it is. Any other coin, that has not been buried in the ground, or had spwnt a lot of time under water, will niot have usually corrosion marks. Hope this helps.
